We’re deeply committed to giving back to our local community. Here’s how…

our community

Each year, we select a charity that has influenced our service or that of our families, we organise a hamper raffle with our families & the local community, to raise money. All proceeds are handed directly to the nominated charity. Most recently we raffled a wheelbarrow full of goodies and donated the proceeds to Friends with Dignity (a charity supporting victims of domestic violence)

Last year, we assisted Kmart Helensvale with the Kmart wishing tree. Many families and staff members brought in a range of different presents and just prior to Christmas, we donated these to Kmart Helensvale/Salvation Army appeal

We held a Community movie night. Families were offered the opportunity through the Clubhouse to attend a local movie night where each ticket sold, raised money for Aunties and Uncles Queensland

Throughout the year we are involved with community events to create awareness and to help with appeals for charities including: Animal Welfare League, SIDS, Flood Appeal, Bushfire appeal, Pink Ribbon Day, Footy colour day, Daffodil Day, Daniel Morcombe Red Day and Jeans for Genes day.

We regularly invite Clubhouse parents, who work in a wide variety of professions as well as community members, into the Clubhouse to engage and interact with the children. We’ve had visits from the fire brigade, police (stranger danger, road safety, stealing and getting help), nurses, Army Soliders, Surfside bus, grandparents and children’s shows (that focus on a range of topics). We have a Hairdressing service every 6-8 weeks offering haircuts to families

Coomera Springs State School is our local school with whom we have a close affiliation. Each the school’s prep teacher visits the Clubhouse in the fourth term to form bonds with the children and to assist with settling into Prep the following year. Our Kindergarten children also have the opportunity to visit Coomera Springs primary school

Our Kindergarten teacher attends regular Kindergarten network meetings with neighbouring child care services and schools to discuss strategies and community influences that impact on children in our care. The Kindergarten teacher visits the children and prep teachers to receive feedback about how to settle during their first term

Clubhouse children created beautiful pieces of art which we then auctioned to Clubhouse families. This activity raised $580.00 for the Animal Welfare League
